Keeping your Google account secure
Issa Compass uses Google Sign-In to authenticate your account. That means the security of your Google account directly affects the security of your visa application data. Here's how to keep it locked down.
Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication adds a second layer of protection. Even if someone knows your password, they can't access your account without the second verification step. Go to myaccount.google.com / Security / 2-Step Verification and turn it on. Use an authenticator app rather than SMS where possible.
Use a strong, unique password
If your Google account shares a password with other accounts, a breach elsewhere puts everything at risk. Use a password manager to generate and store a unique password for Google.

Apps with account access
Review permissions granted to third-party tools
Review connected apps and permissions
Periodically check which third-party apps have access to your Google account. Remove anything you no longer use or don't recognise. Go to myaccount.google.com / Security / Third-party apps with account access.
Watch for suspicious activity & Sign out
Google will alert you to new sign-ins from unfamiliar locations. Take these alerts seriously. If you didn't initiate it, change your password immediately. Never stay signed in on shared, public, or borrowed devices.
If your Google account is compromised
Visit g.co/recover to start Google's account recovery process. Once you've regained access, change your password, revoke all active sessions, and contact Issa Compass support so we can flag your account for review.
