How to spot phishing and impersonation scams
Scammers often pose as visa services, government agencies, or immigration consultants to steal your personal information or money.
What phishing looks like
Phishing attempts usually arrive by email, SMS, or WhatsApp. They create urgency — telling you your application has a problem, your visa is about to expire, or that you need to act immediately.
Common signs:
- The sender's email doesn't match the domain (e.g. support@issa-compass.net)
- The message contains spelling errors or unusual phrasing
- You're asked to confirm details you never submitted
- The URL has extra hyphens, misspellings, or different TLDs
- Pressure to respond within hours or face a consequence

Impersonation scams
Some scammers build fake websites that look almost identical to legitimate visa platforms. They may copy logos, layouts, and even testimonials.
Issa Compass only operates from issacompass.com. We will never contact you from a personal Gmail, WhatsApp number not registered in-app, or a domain you don't recognise.
